Can I Really Make Money Using Instagram?
So, you are probably hearing from everyone that you need to be on Instagram. Instagram is the wave of the future. If you are not using Instagram, you are leaving money on the table. And they’re not wrong.
Facebook owns Instagram. And Facebook recently decided that they were going to focus more on the genuine engaging posts from your Aunt Ruth, rather than the business blog posts or page like bait.
This also changed the method of viewing posts on Instagram, now that the algorithm was introduced. So, what does this mean? It means that you need to be strategic on Instagram to make money for your business. But the good news is, its totally doable.
There are a few steps you need to take to really take advantage of all that Instagram offers and here they are:
Optimize your profile. Write it in Notes on your smart phone and then just copy and paste it into the bio. Feel free to use emojis and hashtags. Do a quick search for similiar businesses as yours and see what they are using.
Make sure that you have switched your account from a personal to a business. It includes a lot more features that you can use such as promotions and insights. Both are great for growing your account and your business.
Create beautiful images that people are interested in stopping the scroll. If you are not a photographer or professional flat lay designer, there are many free apps that you can use for professional photos such as Picabay or Unsplash. You can also design images in Canva’s free program. It is fantastic!
Copy. Copy is very important. Make sure that you are writing copy that speaks to your audience. Pretend that you are writing a message to one specific client. It tends to be more personable. Some audiences prefer a longer copy and some prefer shorter. You will have to test this out on your unique audience.
Geographical tags. Be sure that if you are a local business or if you are a travel agent or luxury travel designer, you put your geographical location in because people do search by location.
Our last tip for selling on Instagram, is that you are social. Follow brands that are in your industry, follow businesses or individuals that you want to follow you back, and like their posts. Add a comment to at least 10 images in your industry, a day. A little engagement goes a long way!
